Hereford boss John Trewick was delighted with his side after their second win in four days against Torquay moved them 12 points clear of the League Two relegation zone.
Gavin McCallum marked a successful return to the side by netting a 22nd-minute winner for the Bulls.
Trewick was delighted at the overall team performance, especially after Torquay piled the pressure on near the end.
"I am very very pleased with the result, the spirit and determination of the players in the last couple of games has been excellent," said Trewick.
"A lot of hard work has gone into it but we had to dig in a bit in the second half at times because they were throwing everything at us as we expected having been a goal down but we held on. They did hit the post with a header which was a chance for them but apart from that I don't think they had anymore chances.
"I certainly thought we should have been more than one up at half-time but to go in in front was acceptable."
