Davey urges caution.
Hereford manager Simon Davey urged caution after his hastily-assembled side claimed a 1-0 win at Crewe. Janos Kovacs - one of six debutants for the Bulls at Gresty Road - scored the game's decisive goal after 16 minutes. Crewe pressed hard for an equaliser but were wasteful in front of goal, with Shaun Miller the main culprit. "I only inherited six players so had to recruit heavily in the summer," said Davey. "We are still going to take time to gel but games and results like this are going to help us gel quicker. "It was a tough game against difficult opposition and not many teams are going to come here and win games. It was a good start but we are a long way from the finished article. We have got a lot of games to play and we'll have some rides on the rollercoaster along the way. "I could see a hunger and desire to succeed when I recruited the players. We then got them on the training ground and helped pull it all together. "We are a small, tight-knit squad. We all get on together, we all work hard together and there is a lot of camaraderie between them. I think all the players are hungry and have a point to prove to the clubs that let them go. The aim is to win every match and we will see where that takes us. We just promise the fans that all my players and my staff will give 100%."
