Davey - ref decision cost us.

Hereford manager Simon Davey felt the referee`s failure to give Chesterfield goalkeeper Tommy Lee a red card changed the course of his side`s 4-0 defeat. Lee could have received his marching orders after committing a foul inside the area - he then saved the resulting penalty. Davey felt at 2-1 and with a man advantage, his side would have been very much in the game. "Penalties change the game - hey had a very soft one in the first five minutes which they've taken then they got a deflected goal and we're two down and up against it," said Davey. "We came out in the second half with a head of steam and we've got our penalty. I felt the goalkeeper should have gone in those situations and then a different goalkeeper goes in and they are down to 10 men which changes the game. Unfortunately the goalkeeper saves it, that changed the game and we lost our head of steam." However, Davey also admitted that his side were not good enough defensively, he added: "I've looked at our games over the last couple of weeks and defensively we've been sound but here we were at sixes and sevens and I've got to admit we didn't defend well enough."
