The teenage duo have joined the League Two outfit on initial month-long loan deals.

But the Bulls chief admits he is still chasing more transfer targets ahead of Monday's deadline.

"I've known about both players for a while, they're both quite young but potentially they are both good players," he told the club's official website. "The squad's not quite big enough at the moment so I've brought them in and it's up to them to earn a place in the squad.

"It's fair to say I'm still after two or three others, but I think the qualities that they have should enhance the squad."

Downing and Elford-Alliyu both featured in a behind-closed-doors game against Birmingham on Monday, and Trewick added: "I'm hopeful that they will grow during their time here, hopefully they will both rise to the occasion and show that they've got a future in the game."
